We finally plunged into Solar with a 12 panels installed on our roof. These panels are each capable of delivering 470w giving us close to 5.6kw at maximum output.
The cells are controlled by a SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter. The technoligy is impressive and yesterday, our first full day on Solar more than out goal of 25% of our consumption came from the roof despite it being overcast and occasional showers.
This addition had the added benefit of finally combining the two electricity meters meaning we will no longer be saddled with two supply costs.
The company we chose is Bare Energy and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Embarking on a kitchen installation journey is akin to setting sail on a sea of possibilities, each decision shaping the course towards the ultimate vision. For Fiona, the journey began with a simple yet profound choice: Ikea. The allure of stylish cupboards and drawers beckoned, leading her down the familiar aisles of the Swedish furniture giant.
After much deliberation, the final hurdle remained: the decision between a stone or laminate benchtop. Despite the practicality of laminate, the undeniable charm of stone proved too enticing to resist. With a decisive nod towards sophistication, Fiona sealed the fate of her kitchen’s centerpiece.
Armed with a plethora of Ikea purchases, the assembly process commenced with gusto. However, amidst the flurry of flat-pack furniture, a sobering realisation dawned upon Nigel: the oversight of plumbing and electrical rough-ins. It was a classic case of tunnel vision, focusing so intensely on the aesthetics that the infrastructure had slipped from sight.
Undeterred, Nigel embarked on a pilgrimage to Bunnings, the quintessential Australian destination for all things DIY. Armed with newfound determination and a shopping list in hand, he procured the necessary hardware for the electrical rough-in, turning a setback into an opportunity for growth.
Back at home, the meticulous task of pulling cables commenced. With precision and patience, Fiona navigated the labyrinth of wires, starting with the indispensable cat5 for the wireless access point. Next came the optical cable, wielding its power over the TV with an air of authority.
Each cable pulled was a step closer to realizing Fiona’s dream kitchen—a harmonious blend of form and function. Through the trials and tribulations of renovation, Nigel discovered resilience in the face of adversity, transforming challenges into triumphs.
As the kitchen renovation journey unfolds, Nigel & Fiona’s story serves as a testament to the transformative power of perseverance and determination. From Ikea adventures to electrical epiphanies, every twist and turn contributes to the tapestry of her renovation saga.
Stay tuned for the next installment of Fiona’s kitchen renovation chronicles, where the journey continues towards the realisation of her culinary haven.
